Just make sure they are comfortable.  Most likely they will be only wearing them when they go out.  The shoes are mainly to protect the babies little feet.  The baby probably won't even use their first pair of shoes that much before they out grow them.  You will probably want the baby to learn to walk bare foot first.

Laces or Velcro?  Let me tell you it is much easier to go with Velcro.  With laces at such a young age it is harder to get on and off shoes with laces not to mention to keep tying those infant shoes.  Now of course if your looking for dress baby shoes and the lace look better and they are not going to be the pair you wear everyday then go ahead and get them.

Baby Shoes Cause Problems

The number one problem baby shoes cause is what to do with all the shoes!  You will be amazed at how fast your kid will out grow their shoes especially baby shoes.  My number one advise is not to make to big of investment in baby shoes and find one or two really good pairs of shoes that will go with multiple outfits they will be wearing.

Where to Buy Baby Shoes

It has been my experience that buying the kids shoes online has been the best experience.  I hate nothing more than going to Kohls. Target, Walmart and various other stores to buy baby shoes and to find out they don't have your size in stock.  Nothing gets under my skin when you do find that perfect pair of shoes that will go with multiple outfits but guess what its not in your kids size!  I have even bought the next size up just because I liked them so much but by the time the shoe fits I don't like the style or something else and I just wasted money.
